Gas Leak Survey Technician

Responsible for checking gas meters for leaks and corrosion, including visual inspections and completing all required paperwork or data entry. Technicians must report on time at their designated work area and accurately document any abnormal operating conditions during inspections, whether electronically or on paper.

Location: Currently hiring throughout Decatur, IL.

Compensation: Starting at $18.00/hr, with an additional $5/hr after training for use of personal vehicle (must have reliable vehicle and insurance). Total during and after training: $18/hr + $5/hr.

This is a daytime, full-time role with potential overtime. Training is instructor-led. Weekend work may be required.

Requirements

• Proficient with smartphones and tablets
• Effective communication skills, both one-on-one and in groups
• Ability to work long hours, including weekends
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, walking 6-8 miles daily
• Willingness to work overtime and overnight stays
• Pass a drug screening
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
• Ability to work independently and in teams
• Basic hand tool skills
• Ability to read utility maps
• Reliable vehicle and insurance required
