The Medical University of South Carolina seeks a dedicated Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support a decentralized, patient-centered care model. Under RN supervision, you will measure vital signs, assist with ADLs, and help ensure patient comfort and safety, while identifying concerns and reporting them promptly.

Ideal candidates have empathy, strong communication, and organizational skills to coordinate with the Nurse Manager and Care Team. BLS required at hire with ongoing certification.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• One year of patient care experience in a health care facility or as a Certified Nursing Assistant is preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire and must be maintained.

Responsabilités

• Keep patient rooms tidy and sanitized.
• Assist patients with daily needs (hygiene, restroom, grooming).
• Monitor vital signs and patient condition.
• Assist nursing staff with basic treatments.
• Ensure rooms have adequate patient care supplies and clean linens.
• Provide emotional support to patients.
• Place patient on cardiac monitor and assist as needed.
• Empty drains, ostomies and foley bags.
• Perform blood sugar checks.
• Support department leadership with other duties as assigned.
