Job summary

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and obtain AHA BLS provider certification within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of high school sciences, basic medical terminology, and basic office equipment.
• BLS certification required within 90 days from hire date.

Responsibilities

• Assist in patient care under RN guidance.
• Support admissions, transfers, discharges, and transport.
• Record vital signs and glucose as directed; report changes.
• Demonstrate competence with suctioning, dressings, tube feeding setup, and catheter care.
• Communicate clearly with health care team; document on hospital forms; relay reports at shift changes.
• Provide personalized care; identify and document special patient needs.
• Pursue continuing education and maintain unit competencies.
• Use equipment and time safely and effectively.
• Assist in code situations under the Code Blue Team direction.
• Follow infection control and safety policies; use two identifiers for procedures.
• Help maintain cleanliness of rooms, kitchens, and storage areas.
• Model REACH values and maintain reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as required.
