Job summary

Vassar Brothers Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support nursing staff in delivering patient-centered care across neonatal to geriatric populations. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, BLS certification within 90 days, and at least 3 months of PCT-related experience or current enrollment in a nursing

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• AHA BLS provider certification within 90 days from date of hire.
• Minimum 3 months experience as a PCT or currently in a junior nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Assists in patient care tasks under RN direction.
• Assists with admissions, transfers, discharges and patient transport.
• Records vital signs and reports abnormalities to the RN.
• Performs procedures like suctioning, dressings, tube feeding setup and catheter care.
• Communicates with health care team and documents per unit standards.
• Maintains unit cleanliness and supplies; adheres to safety and infection control policies.
