Job summary

Atlantic Health System is seeking a compassionate patient care assistant to support doctors and nursing staff in meeting the basic needs of patients in a hospital setting. The role involves assisting with daily activities, monitoring vital signs, and supporting mobility and transfers.

The position requires HS diploma or equivalent and current BLS certification. You will work as part of a collaborative team across Atlantic Health facilities and contribute to delivering high-quality care.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with activities of daily living including bathing, feeding, dressing.
• Obtains and records vital signs, weights, and heights.
• Assists patients with mobility: ambulation, transfer, discharges and ROM activities.
• Performs post mortem care.
• Performs EKGs, phlebotomy and blood glucose monitoring.
• Observes and reports changes in patients' condition to the RN.
• Maintains phlebotomy equipment and inventory.
• Other related duties as assigned.
