Allegheny Health Network (AHN) is seeking staff for the 2 West Medical Surgical/Telemetry Unit. This 40-bed unit provides care across cardiac, pulmonary, infectious disease, neurology, GI, surgical and orthopedic conditions, with observation patients as well.

The role involves direct patient care under RN supervision and coordination of admissions, discharges, and transfers. The position emphasizes adherence to hospital policies, HIPAA compliance, teamwork with RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and support

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to perform basic mathematics
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions
• Basic computer skills

Responsabilités

• Provides, obtains or performs and documents direct patient care and activities such as activities of daily livings.
• Encourages and observes patient on incentive spirometer and/or cough and deep breath.
• Performs skin surveys, takes vital signs, collects specimens, performs phlebotomy and monitors intake and output.
• Assists with meals, measures height and weight, and conducts 12-lead EKG testing.
• Performs blood glucose testing, point-of-care testing, bladder scanning, and transports patients and records.
• Documents oxygen usage and participates in early mobility/ambulation protocols.
• Performs catheterization with clean technique and assists with exams, treatments and procedures.
• Participates in quality and patient satisfaction initiatives and maintains a clean, safe unit.
