Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician I to assist with daily living activities, monitor high-risk patients, and support physicians and nurses in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Responsibilities include vital signs, basic lab prep, EKGs, and patient safety, with a focus on compassionate, culturally sensitive care. A HS diploma and BLS are required; sign-on bonus may apply.

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma or GED and Current Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English clearly.
• Proven patient-care and computer skills are expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide clear, timely communication to RN regarding patient observations.
• Maintain constant observation of high-risk patients.
• Assist with daily living activities and safe patient handling.
• Record vital signs and measurements; perform EKG/POC tests as directed.
• Support RN/PI with treatments and prepare equipment and supplies.
