Job summary

UPMC Altoona is seeking compassionate Patient Care Technicians for full-time night shifts (7:00 PM–7:00 AM). No prior experience required; training provided to start your healthcare career and support patients with daily needs.

What You Will Do

• Work alongside nurses and other health care professionals to provide safe, respectful patient care. You may:

• Help patients with bathing, eating, walking, toileting, and other personal care

• Take vital signs, check blood glucose, obtain weights, and record intake and output

• Answer call bells, respond to patient needs, and help patients stay safe and comfortable

• Observe patients, report changes or concerns to the nurse, and document care

• Assist with patient transport, meals, supplies, cleaning, stocking, and safety checks

• Communicate respectfully, take ownership of assignments, and support the care team
