Job summary

GBMC HealthCare is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to support registered nurses in direct patient care. The role involves assisting with activities of daily living, vital signs, and routine tasks throughout shifts, under the nurse's day-to-day supervision.

The CNA must have a high school diploma and CPR certification, with MD BON CNA I or II registration. Prior direct patient care experience is preferred, with emphasis on safety, infection control, and teamwork in a busy hospital unit.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 6 months experience in direct patient care preferred.
• Current registration with State of Maryland BON as CNA I or CNA II.
• CPR certification (Heart Saver) is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides care, comfort, and safety under direct supervision of a nurse.
• Assists with activities of daily living (bathing, toileting, grooming).
• Records vital signs and performs simple measurements as directed.
• Assists with admissions, transfers, discharges, and transportation as needed.
• Keeps patient rooms clean and stocked with supplies and linens.
• Operates EMR per training and assists in basic nursing procedures.
