Job summary

The University of Texas Medical Branch in Dickinson, TX is seeking a Patient Care Regular professional to provide basic technical assistance and supportive care within Correctional Managed Care in a prison setting.

Located at UTMB Health Dickinson, the role requires security clearance and pre-employment drug testing, plus current BLS-HP. You will assist with basic patient care, data collection, hygiene, feeding and mobility, with emphasis on safety and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with listed program completions or 2 years direct patient care experience.
• Current BLS-HP certification required.
• Ability to perform basic patient care activities in a correctional environment.
• Security clearance and pre-employment drug testing required.

Responsibilities

• Collect data: vital signs, height/weight, intake/output, pulse oximetry; collect specimens.
• Perform and report Point-of-Care Testing (POCT).
• Assist with patient activities and care per plan of care.
• Provide personal hygiene assistance and feeding support.
• Ambulate, position, and care for patients with altered mobility.
• Support patient safety and restraints as needed; observe patient and family behavior.
• Maintain privacy and confidentiality of information and records.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and proper infection control measures.
• Ensure supplies are stocked in patient care areas and follow department controls.
