Job summary

GBMC HealthCare seeks a Nursing Assistant to support licensed nurses in patient care on the Towson unit. Under supervision, you will assist with daily living activities, vital signs, and basic procedures while promoting a compassionate patient experience.

This role requires a high school diploma, 6 months direct care experience preferred, CNA certification, CPR, and ability to communicate in English. You will work under the nurse manager’s supervision and participate in unit activities.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write English to provide basic patient care, communicate instructions, and record data.
• Interpersonal skills necessary to interact with patients, visitors, physicians, and staff in a courteous manner.
• Strong communication skills for effective teamwork and patient care.
• Basic computer skills for electronic medical records and documentation.
• Competent to safely handle medications under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provides care, comfort, and safety of assigned patients under direct supervision of a nurse.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (bathing, toileting, hygiene, linens).
• Observes patients and reports changes in condition to nursing staff.
• Performs delegated nursing care procedures as directed by the nurse.
• Uses electronic medical records as trained for documentation.
• Maintains clean and stocked patient rooms and unit supplies.
