Shirley Ryan AbilityLab is a global leader in physical medicine and rehabilitation seeking a Patient Care Technician. The role provides basic daily patient care, hygiene support, vital signs collection, and data documentation under nursing guidance.

Requires CNA certification or enrollment in a nursing program, and a high school diploma. The position emphasizes safety, teamwork, adaptability, and compassionate patient interaction in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CNA Certification or current enrollment in an accredited nursing program required.
• Completion of the Patient Care Technician orientation is required.
• Demonstrates competency in applying growth and development of multiple age groups.
• Effective communication in verbal, non-verbal and written form.
• Proactively serves customers, the team and organization to achieve goals.
• Adapts to changing work demands and environment.
• Demonstrates critical thinking to monitor and respond to patient needs.
• Ability to transfer and position patients up to 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Performs activities in patient treatment and care, including routine hygiene and daily living activities.
• Records vital signs, intake/output and other data as directed.
• Assists in transferring patients and equipment.
• Documents in nursing database and monitors supplies at bedside.
• Assists with safety and prevention strategies under nurse guidance.
• Performs other duties as needed to support SRAlab.
