Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health in New Jersey seeks a Patient Care Technician to assist with direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision. You will work with a diverse patient population, promoting safety, comfort and satisfaction as part of an interdisciplinary team.

The role emphasizes learning, teamwork and adaptability, with a path from PCT Apprentice to full PCT. Relevant programs (CNA/MA/PCT) or HM H PCT Apprenticeship are expected, plus BLS within 60 days.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
Completion of CNA/Medical Assistant/PCT program or equivalent training.
Certified Nursing Assistant, CMA or PCT program completion or eligible for HMH PCT Apprentice.

Responsibilities

Provide patient care based on age-related criteria and clinical needs.
Communicate with patients, nursing staff and care team about status and care.
Obtain clinical data and document findings; notify RN of abnormal results.
Perform venipuncture and blood draws; ensure proper labeling and specimen transport.
Perform EKGs and ensure equipment readiness and cleanliness.
Aids in patient transport, hygiene, feeding, and daily care tasks.
Support interdisciplinary care plan and participate in PI activities.
