Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to provide high-quality, patient-centered care under the supervision of an RN or LPN.

The role includes assisting with activities of daily living, maintaining a safe environment, and facilitating effective communication within the care team. The PCT will collect data such as vital signs, intake/output, and glucose levels, assist with meals and mobility, and document findings for the care team.

Qualifications

• Experience in acute care setting or enrolled in a Nursing program preferred.
• BCLS within 90 days of hire required.
• CNA or CPCT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff in delivering care and maintaining a clean, safe environment.
• Record and report vital signs, intake/output, and other patient data to RN/LPN/LVN.
• Support patients with meals, hygiene, mobility, and daily living activities.
• Assist with positioning, ambulation, and use of mobility aids.
• Collect urine/stool samples and monitor blood glucose as directed.
• Communicate patient information clearly to the care team and maintain professionalism.
• Adhere to infection control practices and proper PPE usage.
• Participate in risk management, quality initiatives, and safety goals.
• Maintain continuous observation when required and stay with patients as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned and maintain reliable attendance.
