Job summary

WellNow Urgent Care in New York is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support front and clinical teams, maintain patient flow, and assist during exams and testing. You will collect histories, take vital signs, and handle phlebotomy tasks if certified, while keeping HIPAA confidentiality.

Qualifications

• 6+ months of experience as a Patient Care Technician or similar role.
• Preferred experience in Urgent Care, Occupational Medicine, and/or Phlebotomy.
• Ability to register patients on the computer in a timely manner using EMR.
• Must be CPR certified and maintain licensure as required.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Take patient history and obtain vital signs.
• Perform phlebotomy for lab samples if certified.
• Complete lab paperwork and data entry for tests.
• Perform point-of-care tests such as strep, influenza, glucose, etc.
• Explain insurance acceptance and pricing to patients.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and cleanliness of exam rooms.
