Job summary

WellNow Urgent Care is hiring a Patient Care Technician to support clinical operations and ensure efficient patient flow. You will collect histories, obtain vitals, assist with procedures, and help maintain exam rooms in a fast-paced urgent care setting.

The role emphasizes accuracy, HIPAA compliance, and teamwork, with opportunities for certification-based duties and growth as the network expands across markets in New York and beyond.

Qualifications

• 6+ months of experience as a Patient Care Technician or similar role.
• Preferred Urgent Care, Occupational Medicine, and/or Phlebotomy experience.
• CPR certification required.
• Proficient with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Take patient history and vital signs.
• Perform phlebotomy if certified.
• Complete paperwork for lab tests (blood, urine, tissue)
• Perform point-of-care testing (strep, glucose, flu, urinalysis)
• Coordinate ancillary care records
• Assist providers with exams and testing (EKG, imaging prep)
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality
• Ensure equipment is functioning
• Document patient history and procedures in EMR
• Manage patient flow and exam room readiness
• Team collaboration to improve provider efficiency
