Job summary

Southern Illinois Healthcare seeks a Nurse Aide (CNA) to assist with professional nursing care for SIH patients in a clinical setting. You will support basic patient care activities, monitor vital signs, document observations, and respond to emergencies under supervision.

Applicants must have Illinois CNA training and BLS certification; successful completion of a nursing arts course is acceptable. Strong communication and teamwork are essential for patient advocacy and safe, continuous care.

Qualifications

• Nurse aide with Illinois CNA training and written competency test.
• BLS/CPR certification required.
• Must be able to document accurately in patient records.
• Ability to communicate changes in patient condition promptly.

Responsibilities

• Assists nursing staff with patient care activities such as obtaining vital signs, intake and output, bathing, feeding, toileting.
• Assists in medical emergencies, including CPR.
• Complete, accurate and timely documentation in patient medical record.
• Timely communication of changes in patient condition to RN/LPN and/or other health personnel.
• Serve as an advocate for the patient by collaborating with health service personnel.
