Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join our care team in New Jersey. The role supports direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision, focusing on patient safety, comfort, and satisfaction across a variety of complex cases.

Responsibilities include assisting with care planning, collaborating with nurses and the healthcare team, and contributing to performance improvement initiatives. A strong emphasis on teamwork and ongoing education is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Completion of one of: CNA, Medical Assistant or PCT program; nursing fundamentals program; HMH PCT Apprenticeship; or equivalent medical background.
• If none of the programs are completed, may qualify for HMH PCT Apprentice Program.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care aligned with age-specific needs.
• Communicate with patients and care team about status and care.
• Assist with unit and environment related tasks to support safety and comfort.
• Support interdisciplinary plan of care from admission to discharge.
• Participate in unit/department PI activities.
