Job summary

Providence Newberg Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Tech for the Float Pool Unit. This part-time 0.6 FTE night shift (7pm–7:30am, 2x12h shifts weekly) includes rotating weekends.

The role supports RNs and NPs, providing direct patient care and assisting during clinic visits with prescribed procedures. Qualifications include MA, nursing or EMT training options and 1 year acute patient care experience, plus phlebotomy and BLS certification on hire.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a MA program (not required to maintain certification after hire), or
  • Completion of first semester nursing program, or
  • EMT program completion (not required to maintain certification after hire) or equivalent educ/experience
  • 1 year of acute patient care experience, Or
  • 6 months experience in a direct patient care environment in providing clerical support related to Provider or Patient documentation or charting.
  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
  • Experience with basic data entry.
  • 6 months Phlebotomy skills. Must be proficient.

  • Works closely with all team members to provide direct patient care and support RN/NP during visits.
  • Assist with procedures as directed to optimize patient care outcomes.

Job description

Patient Care Tech – Float Pool Unit at Providence Newberg Medical Center. This posting represents a PART-TIME (0.6 FTE), night shift opening (7pm-7:30am, 2, 12 hour shifts per week) with rotating weekends.

Works closely with all members of the team to provide direct patient care to optimize positive patient care outcomes. Works independently and assists the registered nurse/nurse practitioner during clinic visits by providing the appropriate procedures.
