Job summary

Providence Portland Medical Center is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant for the Medical Surgical Unit. This .9 FTE night shift (7pm–7:30am, three 12-hour shifts weekly) includes rotating weekends. You will assist RN with admissions, monitor vitals, collect specimens, and help with mobility.

Qualifications

• Oregon Nursing Assistant Certification License upon hire.
• National Provider BLS – American Heart Association upon hire.
• Experience in hospital or long-term care setting (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a high functioning team.
• Assist RN with admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Measure and record vital signs, output, and weights.
• Collect specimens and perform fingerstick capillary blood tests.
• Assist with client mobility and transfers, using lifts and safe patient handling devices.
• Opportunities for continuing education and professional development, including annual CNA conference.
• Other duties as assigned

Job description

Certified Nursing Assistant — Medical Surgical Unit at Providence Portland Medical Center. This posting represents a .9 FTE, night shift opening (7pm-7:30am, 3, 12 hour shifts per week) with rotating weekends.

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct patient care under the supervision and direction of an RN, utilizing the care plan. The CNA assists a Registered Nurse (RN) in providing comprehensive nursing care by performing specified duties and functions under the direct supervision of the RN.
