UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital in Pittsburgh is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide patient care, assist with procedures and daily living activities, and support the nursing team in a fast-paced ED setting. Role includes performing nursing assistant duties such as vitals, blood glucose, I&O, specimen collection, and tasks like phlebotomy, 12-lead EKG, Foley care, and IV catheter removal.

The position offers full-time shifts 7am-7pm, 7pm-7am, 10am-10pm, or 1am-1pm with rotating holidays

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care including assisting with patient procedures and activities of daily living.
• Assist with physical, respiratory, and cardiopulmonary therapies and report status changes to the RN.
• Perform nursing assistant tasks: blood glucose, weights, vital signs, I&O, specimen collections and Foley care.
• May perform phlebotomy, 12-lead EKG, simple dressing, Foley catheter removal, point of care testing, bladder scan, and IV catheter removal.
• Routinely perform ADLs, telemetry monitoring setup, and HAC/PSI prevention practices.
