Job summary

Shirley Ryan AbilityLab is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide basic daily patient support and nursing assistance. This role includes hygiene, vital signs, and documentation in the nursing database, along with safety-oriented patient care under RN supervision.

The position requires a CNA or enrollment in a nursing program, a high school diploma, and successful completion of the PCT orientation. It is a full-time, on-site role with comprehensive benefits and equity in compensation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CNA Certification or enrollment in an accredited nursing program required.
• Successful completion of the Patient Care Technician orientation.

Responsibilities

• Performs activities in the treatment and care of patients, including hygiene and daily living activities.
• Performs and records routine technical tasks such as vital signs and specimen collection.
• Collects and reports data based on patient plan of care.
• Orients patient and family to environment and safety hazards.
• Assists in transferring patients and equipment as directed.
• Documents care and measurements in nursing database.
• Monitors supply needs to ensure adequate bedside inventory.
