Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health in New Haven, CT, is seeking a Nursing Assistant (CNA) to perform daily patient care under supervision, assist with activities of daily living, and support PFCC across patient and family interactions.

Responsibilities include collecting data (weight, temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure), providing non-sterile treatments, phlebotomy where assigned, and maintaining exceptional interpersonal communications while staying flexible with unit needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CNA certification or enrollment in nursing program prior to orientation.
• 1 year patient care experience preferred (EKG, Phlebotomy, Nurse Aide, Nurse Technician).

Responsibilities

• Conducts daily patient care activities including activities of daily living and comfort measures.
• Collects data: weights, temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure measurements.
• Performs non-sterile treatments (e.g., cold compresses).
• Performs specimen collection/phlebotomy as assigned.
• Uses effective interpersonal skills in all interactions.
• Maintains active involvement in educational activities related to role (attends mandatory inservices).
• Performs other responsibilities as requested by the Patient Care Manager; flexible with time as assignments change.
