Job summary

Baystate Health in Springfield, MA is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join the WETU Department at Baystate Medical Center. The PCT provides patient care, monitors vital signs, documents changes, and supports physicians, nurses and the interdisciplinary team.

The role requires a GED or HiSET, BLS and CNA certifications, and availability for 12‑hour day shifts with holiday rotation. You will work with a diverse adult patient population and collaborate to deliver safe, compassionate care.

Qualifications

• GED or HiSET is required.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) is required.
• Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide age-appropriate care, monitor vitals, document changes, and promptly report concerns.
• Perform procedures such as dressing changes, EKGs, and Point-of-Care testing.
• Assist nurses and physicians with examinations, treatments, and patient-care activities.
• Communicate respectfully with patients, families, and the care team.
• Maintain patient safety and respond to emergencies as needed.
