Job summary

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Patient Care Technician for the Surgical Short Stay Unit. This full-time day shift (6:00 AM – 6:00 PM) includes rotating days and provides essential patient care under the supervision of an RN. Responsibilities include vital signs, mobility assistance, phlebotomy, EKG, IV removal, and specimen collection.

Must be a HS graduate with BLS within 30 days of hire. CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or related CNA/clinical program experience preferred.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
• BLS within 30 days of hire
• One year healthcare experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care and supports daily living activities
• Monitors vital signs, mobility, and ambulation
• Performs phlebotomy, point of care testing, EKG, specimen collection, and catheter care as directed by RN
