Job summary

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, VA is hiring a Patient Care Technician for full-time days (7A–7P). The PCT provides patient care, assists with daily living activities, monitors vital signs, and supports RN staff.

Responsibilities include mobility support, phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, EKG testing, specimen collection, and Foley catheter handling under supervision. BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Eligible CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or hospital corps programs.
• Current student in a clinical program with RN/LPN/RT/PT exposure.
• One year healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and assist with activities of daily living.
• Monitor vital signs and observe patient condition.
• Assist with mobility, ambulation, and specimen collection.
• Perform phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, and EKG testing.
• Support RN and document changes in patient status.
