Job summary

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, VA, is seeking a Full-Time Nights Patient Care Technician for the Surgical Short Stay Unit. The role supports RN staff, assists with daily living activities, monitors vital signs, and performs phlebotomy, EKGs and specimen collection during 7P–7A shifts.

The ideal candidate will have a HS diploma or GED, BLS within 90 days of hire, and healthcare experience.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• One of the listed programs or enrollment in a clinical program is acceptable.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Minimum of 1 year healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under RN supervision.
• Monitor and document vital signs.
• Assist with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection, POC testing and EKGs.
• Support patient safety and observe for changes in condition and report them.
