Job summary

Bon Secours is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for Southside Regional Medical Center in Virginia. The PCT provides basic care under RN supervision, sanitizes rooms, monitors vital signs, and assists with daily activities, with EPIC EHR training offered.

Must have recent acute care experience and BLS certification (preferred). Position is full-time, days/afternoons, 36 hours per week, with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• BLS Basic Life Support required or preferred upon hire, must obtain prior to direct patient care.
• Must have completed one of the specified licensure options.
• Recent experience in acute care, physician’s office, home health/hospice, or long-term care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care including care, comfort, vital signs and personal care.
• Act as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes or concerns.
• Provide high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff.
• Document patient care accurately and timely.
• Participate in hand-off/report of pertinent information on arrival and departure.
• Perform delegated tasks once competency is validated.
• Mobilize patients using safe transfer techniques.
• Encourage patient independence and tailor care to individual interests.
