Responsibilities

• Provide care for adult and geriatric patients as assigned by the RN.
• Assist with admission assessments and patient orientation.
• Attend to daily hygiene needs and assist with meals and nourishment.
• Record intake/output and meet patient needs for movement and elimination.
• Assist with activities and respond to emergency situations per nursing standards.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare team members.
• Participate in unit operations, educational activities, and performance improvement.
• Complete environmental and clerical tasks, maintain supplies, and document care in EMR.
• Perform Glucose Point of Care, EKGs, and apply telemetry equipment.
• Adhere to policies, complete BCLS, and demonstrate customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Preferably completed 75-hour Nursing Assistant Course.
• Certification from an approved Nursing Assistant Course is preferred.
• Ability to exercise good judgment, organize work, and provide appropriate nursing care.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• Knowledge and skills for adult and geriatric care required.
• Support Stroke team participation with annual education.
