Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Massachusetts is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support nursing staff across units. You will communicate observations to the RN, monitor high-risk patients, assist with activities of daily living, and help with treatments, safety checks and specimen handling.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and BLS certification; current Basic Life Support is required. Signing bonus may be available and discussed during interview.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school education or GED.
• Basic Life Support certification within 30-days as a condition of employment.
• Current Basic Life Support.

Responsibilities

• Provides clear, timely communication to the RN regarding observations and changes seen in patients.
• Provides constant observation of high-risk patients as assigned by the Resource Nurse or designee.
• Assists patient with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, ambulating, meals and nourishment.
• Maintains patient safety by performing patient safety checks and following restraint policies when necessary.
• Takes and records vital signs and measures patient height and weight.
• Performs EKGs, POC tests, bladder scanning and specimens transport.
• Assists RN with treatments and prepares equipment and supplies.
