Job summary

LewisGale Medical Center in Salem, Virginia, is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support Registered Nurses with hands-on care and to help create a safe, welcoming environment for patients. You will assist with vital signs, mobility, and daily personal care, helping RNs monitor conditions and carry out care plans.

Qualifications

• BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support smooth care and recovery.
• Provide non-medicated care such as dressing changes and skin protection.
• Keep patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency.
• Manage supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness.
• Communicate kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality.
