Job summary

LewisGale Medical Center in Salem, VA, is seeking an Anesthesia Technician to support the anesthesia team and surgical staff. You will help keep equipment ready, assist with patient transfers, and contribute to a safe, comfortable environment throughout the surgical journey.

You will work closely with the anesthesia team, maintain equipment, and ensure readiness for procedures while upholding patient privacy and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification, or BCLS Instructor certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize anesthesia equipment and supplies by reviewing surgery schedules and planning for what the team will need.
• Set up, transport, and maintain anesthesia carts and equipment to keep supplies clean and ready for safe use.
• Assist patients with transfers, positioning, preparation, and applying non-invasive monitoring devices.
• Act quickly and confidently in emergencies to support patient safety.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by following infection prevention and safety practices.
• Communicate openly with patients, families, and the team while protecting patient privacy.
