Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for Adult Psychiatric Addiction Medicine. The role encompasses clinical tasks under RN/LPN supervision, vitals collection, and basic care in multiple AM shifts at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. Training is provided to complete the PCT program and ensure patient safety.

This is a full/part-time flex position with benefits for eligible staff. Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED and CPR certification within 30 days of employment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• CPR within 30 days of date of employment required.

Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility for certain technical aspects of patient care as directed by the RN/LPN for the hospital.
• Obtain and record vitals, weight, inputs and outputs.
• Successfully complete an in-house PCT training program.
• Demonstrate an awareness of patient and personal safety.
