Job summary

Mercy Health in Fairfield Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support physical therapy and rehab in acute care. Under RN guidance, the PCT sanitizes rooms, monitors vital signs and assists with feeding and grooming.

You will serve as a liaison between patient and nurse, document care, assist with mobility and participate in hand-offs. Prior acute care or home health experience is preferred; BLS is preferred prior to direct patient care.

Qualifications

• Must have completed nursing aide training program or equivalent.
• BLS Basic Life Support preferred prior to direct patient care.
• Recent experience in acute care, home health, or long-term care is desired.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care including comfort, vital signs, personal care and mobility assistance.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse, reporting changes or concerns.
• Delivers high-level patient service and accurately documents care.
• Performs delegated tasks after competency validation.
