Patient Care Technician (Finance)



Position Summary:

Under the day-to-day direction of the on-duty Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant, the general purpose of the Patient Care Technician (PCT) position is to maximize patient flow through the clinic while providing a Stellar Patient Experience. Responsible for performing all appropriate administrative tasks, including EMR documentation, in accordance with company policy. Minimum Position Qualifications:
  • Basic computer skills
  • Excellent customer service, organizational, and task-management skills
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Ability to travel independently as needed
  • Basic math skills
Essential Job Functions:
  • Maintain a '365 day survey-ready' environment to uphold Joint Commission Accreditation.
  • Greet customers and potential patients in the front area or near the clinic.
  • Clean and organize the clinic daily, including trash removal and supply management.
  • Answer questions following HIPAA guidelines.
  • Utilize the Patient Care Technician PERK system.
  • Determine payment methods, explaining options such as prompt pay or insurance filing.
  • Copy government-issued IDs and insurance cards.
  • Escort patients to exam rooms and record chief complaints.
  • Consult with providers regarding scope of services.
  • Complete patient registration and update the EMR.
  • Assist with obtaining specimens and vital signs, recording data in the EMR.
  • Guide patients regarding registration, wait times, services, and payment methods.
  • Answer phones and participate in off-site events and monthly screening events.
  • Prepare supplies for events, process orders, and handle mailing tasks.
  • Travel to designated clinics within the geographic area.

*Note: Patient Care Technicians with an active LPN or RN license may administer immunizations following credentialing and state regulations.

Salary Range: $16.35 - $16.35
