Job summary

City of Hope in the United States is seeking a night shift paraprofessional caregiver to support patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. This 12-hour shift, 3 nights per week, focuses on daily living activities, orderly care, and accurate order entry with coordinated teamwork.

The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma, healthcare experience or nursing student status, BLS/CPR certification, and may have CNA/PCT training. City of Hope is an equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Six months prior experience as a Nurse Aide/Monitor Tech in a health care environment, a second year nursing student, or six months prior experience in a medical setting.
• PCT certification or CNA license desirable.
• Current BLS and CPR required.
• Training as a Unit Secretary in a hospital or equivalent setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Paraprofessional caregiver who works under the guidance and supervision of a registered nurse.
• Assumes responsibility and accountability for activities of daily living, certain tests and procedures, environmental duties and other tasks as assigned.
• Organizes and manages the activity at the nursing desk to support the nursing process and provision of care to the patient.
• Ensures accurate and timely order entry and the proper notification and coordination of the multidisciplinary team.
