Job summary

Ascension Health in Milwaukee, WI seeks a Nursing Support staff in the Float department. The role involves aiding patient movement, assisting with personal care and daily living activities, and reporting changes to nursing staff while documenting records.

You will keep rooms clean and equipment well-maintained as part of a collaborative care team. Qualified candidates have a BLS Provider certificate and Nurse Aide credential, with a High School diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire.
• Nurse Aide credentialed from Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry required.
• High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable experience required.
• Enrollment in a nursing program preferred.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Aid with movement and placement of patients.

• Assist patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.

• Report findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Document necessary records.

• Keep patient rooms clean, orderly, and maintain medical equipment.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• Nurse Aide credentialed from the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Certified Nursing Assistant credentialed from the state of Wisconsin, and in Nurse Aide Registry with eligibility to work in a hospital setting obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Additional certs may be required by specific job locations.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

• Enrollment in a nursing program preferred.

Additional Preferences:

• Current enrollment in a Nursing (ADN/BSN/MSN) program is highly preferred.
