Job summary

Virtua Health in Mount Holly, NJ seeks a Patient Care Technician to assist with daily living activities under RN/LPN direction. You will work with the healthcare team, patients and families, to uphold professional ethics and support the plan of care.

Responsibilities include ADLs, vital signs, phlebotomy as needed, patient education reinforcement and participation in satisfaction initiatives. New hire orientation support is also requested.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completed PCT, CNA, RN fundamentals course, or equivalent direct patient care experience (1 year).
• BLS certification required.
• Phlebotomy training/education required for the ED positions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living and plan of care.
• Support ADLs including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, mobility and transport; follow standard precautions.
• Perform vital signs, point-of-care testing, bladder scanning, Foley catheter care as directed; may perform phlebotomy and EKGs if certified; communicate changes to RN/LPN.
• Reinforce patient and family education regarding care needs and safety issues.
• Participate in Virtua patient satisfaction initiatives and performance improvement activities.
• Assist in orientation of new hires.
