Virtua Health in New Jersey seeks a Patient Care Technician to assist with daily living activities, support the care plan, and communicate with the healthcare team and families. You will help with mobility, hygiene, and comfort, while upholding safety standards.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, and have completed a PCT/ CNA program or equivalent direct patient care. BLS is required; phlebotomy/ECG experience may be needed for ED roles.

Qualificações

• Demonstrates knowledge of basic patient care skills, procedures and standards.
• Must have strong communication skills.
• High School Diploma or GED required; completion of a PCT course, RN fundamentals course, or CNA program, or equivalent direct patient care experience.

Responsabilidades

• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, mobility).
• Follow standard precautions and isolation precautions as needed.
• Perform vital signs, point of care tests, and catheter care as directed.
• May perform phlebotomy and ECGs if certified.
• Communicate changes in patient status to the RN/LPN and support care planning.
• Reinforce patient and family education and participate in quality initiatives.
• Assist in orientation of new hires.
