Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification required within orientation period.
• Experience preferred but on-the-job training available.

Responsibilities

• Answers call lights by carrying wireless devices or using the console.
• Obtains and records patient vital signs per unit specification.
• Assists with admissions by taking vital signs, obtaining weights, and helping with gowns.
• Repositions patients every two hours and encourages turning.
• Ambulates patients in the hall as needed.
• Assists patients with meals and feeding when necessary.
• Collects and records intake and output accurately.
• Enters orders into the EMR and notifies licensed personnel.
• Assists with transporting patients.
• Keeps department tidy and restocks supplies.
• Documents baths, turns, intake/output, and other care activities.
