Job summary

Bon Secours is seeking a Patient Care Technician Trainee at St. Francis Downtown to provide direct patient care under RN supervision. The program is a temporary nurse aide training opportunity designed to gain clinical experience in a faith-based, patient-focused environment.

Responsibilities include assisting with basic care, documenting accurately, and communicating patient needs to the nurse team. BLS is preferred and a strong customer-service mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Provides basic patient care including comfort, vitals, hygiene and mobility support.
• Excellent communication with patients, families and staff; professional interpersonal interactions.
• Knowledge of patient safety standards and infection prevention; able to use clinical technology.
• BLS certification preferred or obtainable prior to direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care including comfort, vital signs, personal care and mobility support.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes or concerns.
• Delivers high-quality customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff.
• Documents patient care accurately and timely.
• Participates in hand-off communications regarding patient and departmental needs.
• Performs delegated tasks under supervision to gain competency.
