Job summary

Jefferson Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support licensed clinicians with direct and indirect patient care. This role may assist with telehealth encounters and requires adherence to safety and high-quality care standards.

The PCT will work with the interprofessional team, respond to patient needs, and help maintain supplies and a safe clinical environment. A high school diploma and basic certifications are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care needs within an interprofessional team.
• Ability to complete delegated tasks within scope of role.
• Ability to maintain personal care and hygiene for quality of life.
• Understanding of patient safety and ability to reduce risks in a healthcare setting.
• Respectful communication with patients, families and care partners.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with and supports the interprofessional team, patient, family and designated care partners.
• Performs direct and indirect patient care activities under guidance of licensed team members.
• Promotes and maintains a safe patient care environment.
• Assists in maintaining supplies and equipment for efficient unit operations.
• Conducts patient rounds, anticipates needs and responds to call lights promptly.
• May assist with telehealth or virtual safety roles as needed.
