Job summary

Trinity Health Livingston - Brighton, MI is seeking a Patient Care Tech to support nurses and care teams in delivering compassionate patient care during night or day shifts. The role involves direct patient care, ADLs, and documentation in the medical record.

We offer full-time, part-time, and contingent positions with weekend/holiday rotations. Starting pay begins at 16.29 per hour, and eligible positions include benefits for full-time and part-time staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year of direct care experience or completion of PCT/CENA/MA/EMT course.
• Student nurses must have completed nursing fundamentals in a BSN program.

Responsibilities

• Training is provided to prepare our colleagues for success.
• The PCT assists patient in completing ADLs including bathing, toileting, positioning, turning, transferring, ambulation and feeding.
• Collects and sends specimens and inserts/removes peripheral IV catheters; documents data to meet requirements.

Shifts Available: Night Shift – 6:30pm-7am OR Day Shift 6:30am-7pm

Status Available: We have opportunities for full time, 36 hours a week, part time, 24 hours a week, or contingent. Full time and part time positions are benefit eligible. Contingent is not benefit eligible.

Weekend and holiday rotations required .

Position Purpose

The PCT, under the direction of a registered nurse, is responsible for direct patient care considering age specific, developmental, cultural and spiritual needs. They assist in establishing and maintaining a patient care environment that is clean, safe and conducive to patient/family wellbeing including concepts of relationship-based care.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / LICENSURE

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of one year of previous direct care experience (acute or long term) or successful completion of CENA, PCT, MA, or EMT course.
• Student nurses must have completed their nursing fundamentals class of a BSN program.

What you will do

• Training is provided to prepare our colleagues for success.
• The PCT assists patient in completing ADLs including: Bathing, showering, toileting, positioning, turning, transferring, ambulation using assistive devices and with feeding and menu selection.
• A PCT will collects and send specimens including blood and blood cultures and inserts and removes peripheral IV catheters. They are responsible to record patient information and required data in appropriate areas in order to meet documentation requirements.
