Job summary

Wilmington SurgCare in Wilmington, NC is seeking a Patient Care Tech. Under supervision, you will assist with routine patient care, prepare post-op kits, and direct patients to rooms.

You will help maintain sterile equipment and keep supplies stocked, while ensuring front and back areas stay orderly. Requirements include BLS, current American Heart Association documentation, and a preferred six months of related experience.

Qualifications

• Current American Heart Assn. (AHA) BLS certification required.
• Graduate of a Patient care tech program preferred.
• Six months of related patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist medical staff with patient care and setup for required testing.
• Unbag and bag equipment; prepare post-op kits; direct patients to rooms.
• Maintain sterile instruments and adequate supplies; keep front and back waiting areas orderly.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Under supervision, performs routine non-professional and professional care; unbagging and bagging equipment, make up post op kits, direct doctors and patients to the appropriate rooms, assist medical staff with patient care, perform visual fields, setup patients for required testing, keep instruments and equipment sterilized, maintain adequate supplies and keep front and back waiting rooms in order.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate of a Patient care tech program preferred and at least six months prior related experience in assisting with care of patients.
• Current American Heart Assn.
• BLS certificate Required.
