Job summary

Surgery Partners, Inc. is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PRN) to support our clinical teams in a busy surgical setting in Chicago.

You will assist with routine and some professional patient care under supervision, prepare post-op kits, and help direct patients and doctors to the correct rooms. Responsibilities include maintaining sterilized equipment, setting up patients for testing, and keeping waiting areas organized.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Patient care tech program preferred and at least six months prior related experience.
• Current BLS certificate required.
• American Heart Association CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine patient care under supervision and assist with professional tasks as directed.
• Assist with unbagging and bagging equipment, preparing post-op kits, and sterilizing instruments.
• Direct doctors and patients to the appropriate rooms and assist the medical staff with patient care.
• Set up patients for required testing and ensure supplies are stocked and waiting areas are orderly.

Under supervision, performs routine non-professional and professional care; unbagging and bagging equipment, make up post op kits, direct doctors and patients to the appropriate rooms, assist medical staff with patient care, perform visual fields, setup patients for required testing, keep instruments and equipment sterilized, maintain adequate supplies and keep front and back waiting rooms in order.
