Job summary

Surgery Partners, Inc. is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide routine patient care under supervision in our Chicago facility.

The role includes assisting clinicians, preparing post-op kits, sterilizing equipment, and ensuring orderly front and back areas. Requirements include completion of a patient care tech program (preferred) with at least six months related experience, current BLS, and Basic Life Support/Certified Nurse Aide certifications.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Patient care tech program preferred and at least six months related experience.
• Current American Heart Association certification on file.
• BLS certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine patient care under supervision.
• Unbagging and bagging equipment; prepare post-op kits.
• Direct doctors and patients to appropriate rooms.
• Assist medical staff with patient care.
• Set up patients for required testing.
• Keep instruments and equipment sterilized.
• Maintain supplies and keep waiting rooms in order.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Under supervision, performs routine non-professional and professional care; unbagging and bagging equipment, make up post op kits, direct doctors and patients to the appropriate rooms, assist medical staff with patient care, perform visual fields, setup patients for required testing, keep instruments and equipment sterilized, maintain adequate supplies and keep front and back waiting rooms in order.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate of a Patient care tech programpreferred and at least six months prior related experience in assisting with care of patients.
• Current American Heart Assn.
• BLS certificate Required.
