Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support the Antepartum/Postpartum units in Evanston, IL. The role is 32 hours per week with 2300-0730 shifts and weekend rotation, with float to other Evanston Hospital units as needed.

You will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to deliver patient care and help with vital signs, EKGs, bladder scans, catheter care, IV removal, specimen collection, bathing, turning, hourly rounding, glucose monitoring, feeding, and

Qualifications

• Education: CNA training or nursing clinical rotation preferred.
• BLS certification preferred or required.
• Inpatient PCT or maternal child health experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care on the Antepartum unit under RN supervision.
• Assist with vital signs, 12-lead EKG, bladder ultrasound, Foley & IV tasks and specimen collection.
• Assist with bathing, turning, hourly rounding, glucose monitoring, feeding and admissions.
• Support implementation of patient care plans and unit safety.
• Contribute to a high-quality patient experience.

Hourly Pay Range
$19.71 - $28.58 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

• Location: Evanston, IL
• Full Time: 32 hours /week

What You Will Do

• Work under the supervision of a RN to deliver patient care on the Antepartum unit
• Assist with Vital Signs (includes manual blood pressure), 12-Lead EKG, Bladder Ultrasound, Foley catheter and IV adapter removal, sterile specimen collection, bathing, beds, ambulating, turning, hourly rounding, blood glucose, feeding, admitting patients to room, preparing patients for discharge and any other duties delegated by the Registered Nurse
• Assist with the implementation of a patient specific care plan
• Participate in other activities which are essential to the functioning of the patient care unit
• Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience
  

What You Will Need

Education: Completion of an accredited certified nursing assistant (CNA) training course preferred or Completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical nursing preferred

Certification: Current BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider issued by American Heart Association

Experience: Inpatient PCT or maternal child health experience preferred

Unique or Preferred Skills: Inpatient PCT or maternal child health experience preferred
