Job summary

Endeavor Health in Evanston, IL seeks a Patient Care Technician to support the Antepartum unit under RN supervision. The role is full-time 32 hours/week with 2300-0730 shifts and weekend rotation, including floating to other Evanston Hospital units as needed.

Responsibilities include vitals, EKG, catheter care, bathing, ambulation, discharge prep, and assisting with care plans. CNA training or nursing clinical rotation preferred, with BLS certification; inpatient PCT or maternal child health

Qualifications

• CNA training or equivalently approved program required/preferred.
• BLS certification for Healthcare Provider per American Heart Association.
• Inpatient PCT or maternal child health experience preferred.

• Work under RN supervision to deliver patient care on Antepartum unit.
• Assist with vital signs, 12-Lead EKG, bladder ultrasound, Foley catheter removal, IV adapter removal, sterile specimen collection, bathing, beds, ambulating, turning, hourly rounding, glucose, feeding, and discharge prep.
• Assist with implementation of patient-specific care plan.
• Participate in activities essential to unit functioning and safety.

Hourly Pay Range:

$19.71 - $28.58 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

• Position: Patient Care Technician - Postpartum Unit
• Location: Evanston, IL
• Full Time: 32 hours /week
• Hours: 2300-0730 will include weekend rotation
• Float: Will float to units throughout Evanston Hospital if needed

What you will do:

• Work under the supervision of a RN to deliver patient care on the Antepartum unit
• Assist with Vital Signs (includes manual blood pressure), 12-Lead EKG, Bladder Ultrasound, Foley catheter and IV adapter removal, sterile specimen collection, bathing, beds, ambulating, turning, hourly rounding, blood glucose, feeding, admitting patients to room, preparing patients for discharge and any other duties delegated by the Registered Nurse
• Assist with the implementation of a patient specific care plan
• Participate in other activities which are essential to the functioning of the patient care unit
• Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience

What you will need:

Education: Completion of an accredited certified nursing assistant (CNA) training course preferred or Completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical nursing preferred

Certification: Current BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider issued by American Heart Association

Experience: Inpatient PCT or maternal child health experience preferred

Unique or Preferred Skills: Inpatient PCT or maternal child health experience preferred
