Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Antepartum Unit in Evanston, IL. You will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to deliver compassionate patient care and ensure safety on the antepartum unit, including vitals, bathing, turning, and preparations for discharge.

This full-time position (32 hours/week) requires completion of a CNA training program preferred and a current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited CNA training course preferred.
• Current BLS certification from American Heart Association preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care on the Antepartum unit under RN supervision.
• Assist with vital signs, hygiene, turning, and feeding.
• Prepare patients for discharge and assist with care plan implementation.
• Participate in activities essential to unit functioning and safety.

Hourly Pay Range

$19.71 - $28.58 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

• Location: Evanston, IL
• Full Time: 32 hours /week
• Hours: 2300-0730 will include weekend rotation
• Float: Will float to all units throughout Evanston Hospital if needed

What You Will Do

• Work under the supervision of a RN to deliver patient care on the Antepartum unit
• Assist with Vital Signs (includes manual blood pressure), 12-Lead EKG, Bladder Ultrasound, Foley catheter and IV adapter removal, sterile specimen collection, bathing, beds, ambulating, turning, hourly rounding, blood glucose, feeding, admitting patients to room, preparing patients for discharge and any other duties delegated by the Registered Nurse
• Assist with the implementation of a patient specific care plan
• Participate in other activities which are essential to the functioning of the patient care unit
• Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience

What You Will Need

Education: Completion of an accredited certified nursing assistant (CNA) training course preferred or Completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical nursing preferred

Certification: Current BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider issued by American Heart Association

Experience: Inpatient PCT or maternal child health experience preferred

Unique or Preferred Skills: Inpatient PCT or maternal child health experience preferred
