Job summary

Endeavor Health in Evanston, IL is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the postpartum unit. The position is full-time (32 hours/week) with 2300-0730 shifts and weekend rotation, and staff may float to units throughout Evanston Hospital as needed.

Under RN supervision, you will assist with vital signs, EKGs, bladder ultrasound, catheter removal, specimen collection, bathing, turning, hourly rounding, glucose checks and discharge prep, contributing to safety and a high-quality patient experience.

Qualifications

• Education: Completion of an accredited CNA training course preferred or Completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical nursing preferred
• Certification: Current BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider issued by American Heart Association
• Experience: Inpatient PCT or maternal child health experience preferred
• Unique or Preferred Skills: Inpatient PCT or maternal child health experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Work under the supervision of a RN to deliver patient care on the Antepartum unit
• Assist with Vital Signs (includes manual blood pressure), 12-Lead EKG, Bladder Ultrasound, Foley catheter and IV adapter removal, sterile specimen collection, bathing, beds, ambulating, turning, hourly rounding, blood glucose, feeding, admitting patients to room, preparing patients for discharge and any other duties delegated by the Registered Nurse
• Assist with the implementation of a patient specific care plan
• Participate in other activities which are essential to the functioning of the patient care unit
• Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience

Hourly Pay Range: $19.71 - $28.58 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
